VANGUARDS - Morris Marina
Unfortunately the Morris Marina is well known these days as a car that likes to be crushed by a piano, and before that as one of the cars that nearly brought British Leyland to its knee's, along with the Allegro, both had awful reputations, the marina was a hastily brought to market car to compete with the then MK2 Cortina, and far from being a failure, it sold in the UK alone over 800,000 in less than 10 years of production, they sold more across the world, with production in Australia and Denmark, 30,000 were made in Australia, and was designed by the same man as designed the MK2 Cortina.
This model, is an extremely life like version, the Teal Blue paint work is spot on, along with the wheel trims, and marina font on the back, all perfect replica's of the original, the independent wheels all have suspension play, the interior is a fair representation of the real car and with half open front windows it gives the car a better over all look, it's a great car, and it has pride of place in the centre of my loose Vanguards display.
